Customized Motivation

Congratulations! You made it through another Monday. I personally like to get through my Mondays by motivating myself in a few different ways. I start my day off on the right foot by digging into the Word and talking to God so that my mindset is right going into the work day. If a scripture stands out to me, I make a note of it and meditate on it throughout the day, especially if things start to get stressful. I also like to listen to uplifting music on Spotify while I work.  I definitely feel like music is a great motivator because it helps to set your mood. So when I'm at work it's usually worship music or instrumental playlists that help me concentrate. On the other hand, when I work out, I like my music to be loud, upbeat and fun. Working out is another great way to stay energized and motivated. I admit I have slacked in this area lately but I did go to a free Crossfit class on Saturday morning off Henderson (thanks to Milk & Honey for the tip) and had so much fun! I'm pretty sore today, but that just goes to show I certainly needed the workout.

Since everyone is different, I'm interested… what are some ways you motivate yourself? It's always great to learn from one another and gain new ideas.  It's also wonderful to encourage and challenge each other so here are a few scriptures I meditate on when I need an extra push.

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men… - Colossians 3:23

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. – 2 Corinthians 12:9

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight. – Proverbs 3:5-6

Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain. – 1 Corinthians 15:58

Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. – Psalm 34:8
