Failure is never easy to swallow, even if it's temporary. Do you ever find yourself thinking, "I've got this together," then do something that seems far out of your character? Maybe for you it's gossiping and you used your words to cut someone down, buying things you cant afford because you had to feed the need for instant gratification, or over drinking at social events because you were swept away in the festivities. What you're left with is remorse. To be transparent, often times the closer I feel to God, the further away I feel when I do mess up because I know better. Paul said it best in Romans 7:15, "For I do not understand my own actions, for I do not do what I want but I do the very thing I hate."
Although we may feel that way at times, we can rejoice knowing that God's love for us is so deep; we are no longer slaves to our sin because Jesus Christ set us free. Those are the moments when God wants you to come even closer and learn from Him. God does not love you for your works, grace is a free gift. Here are some scriptures for you to use to remind yourself of God's love, even when you don't feel like you deserve it.
For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
-Romans 5:8
-Romans 5:8
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.

Luckily, I have some amazing women in my community group that remind me of this truth and then do the next important thing and that's hold me accountable. It's vital to come to God with your sins and ask for forgiveness but God also calls us to confess. Now here comes the "action" (remember that's what were striving for this year!). If you identify a weakness in your life, tell the people in your community so they can help you grow in this area of your life. God may have spoken to them the words you need hear! Allow them to admonish you and accept their truth in love.
Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

Okay. I don't know if anyone else felt like they were in Cali this past weekend, but I was feelin' Hollywood vibes in my pink mauve faux fur and sunny 68 degree weather. Pairing this phenomenal jacket with boyfriend jeans and a simple grey tee made the perfect glamour casual look. Depending on where you're going, add a pair of heels or ankle boots to complete the look for a date or meeting friends for brunch!
